I always enjoy shopping at the Fort Lee commissary. I feel a sense of community with all the military people that shop there. I've been shopping there for the last 31 years and it really is like home. I hope it's never taken away from us have I often hear it will be. I am ready to fight to keep the commissary because we are in the right to have it here.
It's great for the service members and their families. We don't use it like we use too but that's because of local competition with other grocery shopping centers. The commissary offers a lot of value to the members of the Armed Forces and the surrounding community. Overall they do a great job for the services but will need to update the floor plan a bit more to be more competitive and think about expanding or increasing the overall square footage. Just saying.
Great prices! Big selection! All the employees are familiar with the store and are helpful with finding what you need
Always clean. Great selection of food. Cashiers are great. The people who bag the food work for tips. They bag and take the stuff to your car for you.
Frequently you can find better prices in town. Too many people come in and speak with a heavy accent and you cab have a hard time understanding them,. Worked there for 5 years and found promotion is almost nil. They have too many prople who think they are in charge when they are not.
